The sound signature of the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x is?

Very flat. Essentially made for professional studio monitoring, you can expect a neutral sound from the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x. Bassheads, leave now before you set yourself up for disappointment.

No, they are not. You can have a look at the V-MODA Crossfade LP2 as it is ideal for DJ and live shows.

No, it doesn?t. If you are looking for a wide soundstage our top recommendation will be the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro. It features an open-back design with much more detailing as compared to the ATH-M50x.

Will Audio-Technica ATH-M50x require an Amp?

Although your smartphone and laptop will be able to drive it, an amplifier would certainly bring out the true potential of the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x. Read more about amplification and why it’s important here.

What is the difference between the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x and the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro?

The Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro will have a flatter response, as accurate to the source as possible. The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x will have relatively extended low end in comparison.
